Hi there! Welcome to the Module introducing you to the Core Content Mastery Method. We are SO excited to share this information with you and for you to embrace our pedagogy like we have! Our methods have been proven effective time and time again with thousands of students. In this video I’m gonna give you a quick overview of the pedagogy, and then in the next videos we’ll break it down for you in more detail!
Our pedagogy is deeply rooted in our vision statement – and vice versa. We deliver mastery via linchpins and the Core Content Mastery Method. We help nurses and allied health professionals to save time, reduce information overload, achieve clarity, and obtain content mastery, confidence, and peace of mind. So when we consolidated our philosophies and developed this specific pedagogy – it was so clear that these were our goals and this was how we were going to make it happen.
So the Core Content Mastery Method is based on four Core Tenets, or four Pillars. These four philosophies guide EVERYTHING we do and should ALL be included in every piece of content you create. The first Core Tenet is “Filet Mignon” – that means we give them the MOST important information, not the buffet of information – gain, we want to decrease content overwhelm. The second is “Why Behind the What” – we believe that understanding the science behind the art is imperative to be a competent, effective healthcare professional, AND it helps with retention! The third is “Linchpins & Connections” – this means we provide that ONE piece of information that holds everything together, and we make sure to draw connections between the content – and connections to the real world. Again our goal is to help things click and to improve retention, decrease study time, and decrease content overwhelm. And finally, “Learner-Centered Talkabouts”. We talk to the learner like they’re in the room with us. It’s a chat, a casual conversation. It’s about THEM getting what they need, not about US proving what we know.
As you look at this you’ll also see 8 “building blocks”. These are the practical ways to apply the Core Content Mastery Method. Keep it Short, Cheatsheets, Dig for Why, Backwards/Forwards, Linchpins, Absolutes, Draw it, and Real Life. Linchpins we’ll talk about in depth when we review that Core Tenet – but the rest will have their own video as well to help you know how to take these philosophies and practically apply them when you’re developing courses! We want you to feel equipped and prepared with the guidance you need when you start creating content using our pedagogy.
I’m so excited for you to dive in and learn more about this pedagogy that we are so passionate about. As I said, each Core Tenet and each practical application will have its own video lesson, so make sure you take your time, re-watch the videos if you need to. We want you to really dig deep until you eat, sleep, and breathe the CCMM – just like we do! With that said, go out and be your best self today. And, as always, happy nursing!
