Hello. Today we are going to take review of parts of speech!
So there are eight parts of speech that we are going look at today. A pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb, interjection, conjunction, noun, and preposition.
Adjectives describe nouns whereas adverbs further describe either adjectives, verbs or other adverbs.
And in the spirit of Schoolhouse Rock, Interjections are words that express emotion or feeling when spoken. AND conjunctions are junctions or joining words like and, or but and yet.
A noun is a person, place or thing. And prepositions are all of these words listed here that combine with nouns to create phrases that modify verbs, nouns, pronouns or adjectives.
So to review the eight parts of speech, pronouns are substitutes for nouns, verbs are an action or being words, adjectives describe, adverbs modify other nouns, verbs or adverbs. Interjections are words that sound like a feeling or emotion and conjunctions connect words/phrases. Nouns are persons, places or things and prepositions combine with nouns to create phrases that modify verbs, adverbs or nouns.
Thank you for joining me in this review of the different parts of speech. Now go out and be your best self today and happy nursing.
