Hi, I’m Jon Haws, RN, founder of NRSNG. I want to share with you about our mission. There’s a problem that we believe we have the solution to, so we want you to get on board!

Our Mission is to End the nursing and allied health shortage by creating a highly educated and engaged workforce.

So, what’s the problem – well there is estimated to be a shortage of 1.09 million nurses by 2024.
One theory is that this is caused by a faculty shortage because of the high number of students turned away from admission every year. While that’s true, we believe there’s other evidence that points to a bigger problem.

You also have to look at Failure & Attrition Rates:
In some states, as many as 1 in 3 students don’t even finish nursing school.
AND the NCSBN reported that 89,177 students failed the NCLEX in 2017 – and that’s only the ones that passed school to begin with.

We also looked at New Nurse Turnover Rates – 1 in 5 new nurses leave their job in the first year, and 1 in 3 leave by their second year!
Based on our experience and things we’ve seen and heard from our students, we believe there is a bigger problem at the core of this. We had to ask ourselves – WHY are so many students failing school? Why are they failing their boards? Why are the getting into nursing, but not staying?

This is the problem we want to address!

We see that there’s a bigger problem in healthcare education and it faces some unique challenges. Professors are older and sometimes stuck in their ways. Pass rates are low and attrition rates are high, like we just talked about. And, we see the use of technology as adjunct only – it’s not being integrated deeply in the health education world. Not only that, but these students have to learn to care for others in their darkest hour, and do it confidently.

All of this combines to create a highly stressful learning environment. Students are told they’ll have no life, they’ll sacrifice time with their families, they don’t sleep, they don’t take care of themselves, and then we expect them to excel on exams and in the clinical arena. As educators, we know that none of this is conducive to effective learning.

The reality is that everyone has different experiences in nursing school, but one of the things that impacted me the most was __________ (about dropping out)

We hear these kinds of struggles from our students all the time. They’re told that they can’t cut it or that nursing school isn’t for them, or they’re left to fend for themselves because their professors don’t even know how to explain the material, or how to answer the questions. Yes, we are struggling to admit enough nursing students to meet the need – BUT – we are not properly supporting and educating the students we DO admit. Think about those nurses who failed the NCLEX last year – 89,177. If even HALF of those had passed – 45,000 nurses would be entering the workforce. That’s enough to fully staff a dozen hospitals!! There’s a need here that isn’t being met and we believe we have the solution.

NRSNG Academy IS our solution. (((Describe it)))

Students can create personalized study plans based on what they’re currently working on or their next test. Then they work from this Personalized Dashboard as they master each component of the content!

We have a library of thousands and thousands of resources from cheatsheets to case studies, care plans, mnemonics, flashcards, and a massive image database. Learners don’t have to go anywhere else to find what they need – it’s all right here for them.

Our video lessons are taught by practicing nurses who have learned how to drill down to the most important information and provide those key points and linchpins for the students in a way that is super easy to understand. And – remember those resources we talked about? Cheatsheets, images, etc? Each lesson has those resources tied directly into it to access right from the lesson page!

And everything is taught using our Pedagogy and teaching philosophy – the Core Content Mastery Method – that’s what we’re going to be teaching you in the coming modules. We’ll show you how to implement this powerful teaching strategy that has been proven effective time and time again!

So – how does this meet the need? We reduce study time because students can focus on core content. We eliminate content overload by making everything clear and concise. Being very intentional about what we include in lessons and how we format them means students can obtain content mastery. This gives them confidence because they start getting the results they want. That breeds peace of mind because they now trust themselves and their knowledge and abilities. All of that leads to nurses and allied health professionals entering the workforce confidently and competently. THAT is how we can end the nursing shortage. We’re excited for you to be a part of this. In the next lesson we’ll look closer at what your role will be.

With that said, go out and be your best self today – Happy Nursing!
