- Breath sounds by “Normal” location
- Bronchial → over the trachea
- Heard on exhalation
- Harsh
- If heard in another area other than trachea = not normal
- Bronchovesicular → Right and left bronchi
- Heard equal on right and left on inhalation and exhalation
- Softer than bronchial
- If heard in another area other than bronchi = not normal
- Vesicular → Lung lobes
- On inspiration
- If heard in another area other than lung lobes = not normal
- Bronchial → over the trachea
- Pneumonia
- Aerated tissue turns semi solid → continuous noise
- Bronchial breath sounds over the lungs
- Abnormal because bronchial breath sounds are normal at the trachea
- Dull percussion
- Increased fremitus
- Bronchial breath sounds over the lungs
- Rhonchi
- Heard on inspiration and exhalation
- Rumbling
- Aerated tissue turns semi solid → continuous noise
