Having a understanding of Medical Terminology is fundamental to understanding all aspects of nursing. Knowing how to identify prefixes, suffixes, major combining forms, and common terminology for each body system can help you to make inferences about terms you may have never heard before. This skills is helpful for nurses at any level!
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize the parts of medical terms, to include prefixes, roots, and suffixes, and how to identify combining forms.
- Understand how to break down medical terminology to be easier to understand.
- Confidently identify some of the most common medical terms for the major body systems.
- Confidently identify some of the most common medical terms related to medical procedures and specialties.
