    1. Urinary output is less than 400cc in 24hrs
    2. Pre-renal Stage
      1. Decreases in urinary output
        1. This is caused by a decreased blood supply in kidney
          1. Congestive heart failure (CHF)
          2. Low blood pressure (BP)
      2. Kidneys are still healthy but can progress to renal failure
    3. Renal Stage
      1. Kidney damage has occurred
        1. Parenchymal tissue (damage to organ tissue)
        2. Nephrons/tubules
          1. Acute tubular nephrosis
