    1. Symptoms include yellowing of:
      1. Skin
      2. Whites of eyes
      3. Mucous membranes
    2.  Causes of jaundice
      1. Increased bilirubin
      2. Hepatic failure or Liver failure
        1. Liver failure–> bilirubin can not be broken down and excreted the way that it should be
      3. Biliary tract disease
        1. Gall bladder disease
    3.  Unconjugated or Indirect Bilirubin
      1. Bilirubin and albumin
        1. Become conjugated/direct in liver and then move to gallbladder–> This can not occur in liver disease/failure
      2.  Increased unconjugated bilirubin
        1. Liver disease
        2. Hepatic failure
      3.  Increased conjugated bilirubin levels
        1. Gall bladd
        2. Biliary tract disease
