Skin Layers

The layers of the skin contain many complexities, including layers. The epidermis, or the outer layer of the skin, is the most exposed and contains the external ducts of glands. Underlying the epidermis is the dermis which houses capillaries arrector pili muscles and the majority of the glands, followed by the subcutaneous layer. The subcutaneous layer contains adipose tissue, along with veins, arteries, gland bodies and nerve and lymph vessels.
