- Tentorial notch = Anterior opening
- Foramen magnum
- Large opening at the base of the skull
- Pyramidal tracts
- Begin on one side of head and cross over to other side of the body
- Assist with movements
- If injury occurs on tracts it is seen with a positive babinski
- Babinski is when the sole of the foot has been stroked and te big toe then moves upward or toward the top surface of the foot and toes stretch out
- Third Cranial Nerve
- Oculomotor Nerve
- Innervates pupil
- Sympathetic innervation
- Runs from Medulla to pupil and dilates the pupil
- Parasympathetic innervation
- From the midbrain to the pupil and causes pinpoint pupils
